Abstract

This paper aims to examine the local wisdom of a community as a source of social studies learning in SD/MI. Social science learning in SD/MI based on local wisdom in the new adaptation period is an activity to teach SD/MI students to learn about the local wisdom of a community, so that students have affective competencies (acceptance, response, assessment, organizing, and characterization), and competence cognitive (remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, and creating), as well as psychomotor competence (perception, readiness, directed reactions, natural reactions, complex reactions, adaptation, and creativity) in the period of adaptation to new habits. Local ideas that are wise, full of wisdom, of good value, which are embedded and followed by members of the community, are called local wisdom. The forms of local wisdom of a community can be in the form of myths, prohibitions, recommendations, and traditional ritual ceremonies. In SD/MI Social Studies material on the Cultural Diversity of My Nation, it can carry the theme of local wisdom that is harmonious and has character as a cultural feature of a community community. Local wisdom is patterned from the cultural advantages of a local community and geographical conditions in a broad sense. Local wisdom is the result of past culture that should be used as a guide for life. Although it is said to have local value, the value contained in it is very universal. Local wisdom has several functions, including for the conservation and preservation of natural resources, human resource development, cultural and scientific development, as advice, belief, literature, taboos, and social cohesion.
