Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the product design of science learning media, the practicality and feasibility of the product, and to increase the understanding of the concept of class VB students using a practical guide book on the material of changing the shape of objects. This development research uses a Research and Development (R&D) type of research, this research uses a development process according to the flow of Thiagarajan, namely a 4-D model that has been modified into 3-D namely Devine, Design, and Development. The data collection techniques used were validation questionnaires, teacher and student response questionnaires and test questions to determine the level of understanding of students' concepts. Furthermore, the data obtained will be analyzed by collecting data from each validator as well as teachers and students. while practicality can be seen from student response questionnaires with a percentage of 95% (very practical) and teacher response questionnaires with a percentage of 75% (quite practical). The results of the application of the guidebook are seen from the scores of the pre-test and post-test scores. The average pretest score reached 60 compared to the posttest score of 78. This shows that the product developed has a high level of validation, so the product developed is suitable for use in learning and can improve students' understanding of concepts in class VB SD Inpres Perumnas 2 Kupang.
