Abstract

This study aims to apply the buzz group discussion method to science subjects to improve learning outcomes and questioning skills for fourth grade students at SDN Maubesi Labarai for the 2020/2021 academic year. This research is a classroom action research. The sample of this study was the fourth grade students of SDN Maubesi Labarai with a total of 15 students consisting of 6 boys and 9 girls. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out with learning outcomes tests, student-asking skill questionnaires, student activity observation sheets and teacher activity observation sheets using the buzz group discussion method and learning tools such as syllabus, lesson plans and worksheets. Based on the results of the research in cycle 1, the average value of learning outcomes was 67.66 with a percentage of 46.67%, while the average value of questioning skills was 61 with a percentage of 80%. From these results, it has been proven that the learning outcomes and questioning skills in cycle 1 are categorized as incomplete or have not reached the predetermined KKM so that researchers continue in cycle II. From the data obtained in the second cycle, it shows that learning outcomes and questioning skills have increased, namely the average value of learning outcomes has increased to 77.66 with a percentage of 86.67 while the average value of the skill has increased to 78.33 with a percentage of 86. ,67. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that the application of the buzz group discussion method in science subjects can improve learning outcomes and questioning skills in fourth grade students at SDN Maubesi Labarai, Malacca Regency, for the 2020/2021 Academic Year.
