Abstract

This article was created with the aim of revealing the importance of the role of local wisdom in the cultivation of student character education. Indeed, character education is an important aspect in developing student attitudes. Character education, which can later be used as a provision for life in the community. Character education that functions in creating superior and quality human resources (human resources) should be instilled in elementary school education. The planting of character education carried out by teachers aims to make students increasingly recognize the potential and advantages of the environment in which they live, and to love their own culture and nation. Character education planting materials that are sourced from local wisdom make learning more meaningful and contextual. Consistent commitment and efforts are needed for the success of planting character education based on local wisdom.
