Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis is a serious problem in Indonesia. In addition to having a high risk of transmission, pulmonary tuberculosis has many obstacles in treatment, including length of treatment, large amounts of drugs, and adverse side effects. This research aims to determine the effects of integrated counseling on the knowledge of factors that support the recovery of pulmonary TB patients. The method used in this research is pre-experimental method with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The samples in this research were all TB patients who were treated at Bainamu and Bontosunggu Health Centers in Jeneponto Regency. Data analysis was using McNemar statistical test. The results show that there are significant differences in knowledge about food, healthy living behaviors that support and inhibit the recovery of TB patients before and after receiving integrated counseling with p value = 0.002 and p value = 0.001.  There are significant difference in knowledge about spirituality that support the recovery of TB patients with p value = 0.000. Conclusion: there are effects of integrated counseling on knowledge about the proper diet for TB patients, healthy lifestyle behavior that support and inhibit the recovery of TB patients, and spiritual that support the recovery of TB patients.
